About Me

Unveiling the Writer

I never knew I could write but only recently, having felt an urge to express my pent up feelings. All, I can say is that whatever I write is absolutely from the heart and is derived from either my first hand experience or an event or incident for which I have strongly felt. Getting them published had never crossed my mind but of now. My only intention is to share it with like-minded folks so as to be able  to evoke some moments of emotional connectedness with my readers. I am  hoping it will resonate and appeal to folks who still read poetry. (Though I am not sure how many do so these days and how many will appreciate mine.)

I have not published these anywhere before or even shared my writings publicly in any forum. As I said, these are my intimate and private thoughts, so honestly I don't know how these fare as literary pieces that merit publishing. A caveat, though. Some may find a bit of influence from the Victorian / Early Modernists in these writings. Actually I have been brought up in the old school of poetry where Blake, Tennyson, Wordsworth, Tagore, Masefield, Lear, et al, still inspire through their timeless, lyrical compositions.

A little bit about myself would be in order. Although a rookie in writing, I am on the wrong side of fifty, working  for a global information technology company. By training I am a graduate in chemical engineering, by practice & profession, a post graduate in management  (strange bedfellows they are with poetry!). Am based out of Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta) situated in the eastern part of India, where I live with my mother, wife and only  son.
